I'll admit, when I first received my platinum Chrysmela earring backs, I was a bit hesitant. The back felt so secure that I initially had trouble figuring out how to take it off the earring. In my excitement to use them, I completely missed the instructions! After a classic "duh" moment and a quick read of the directions, I was a pro. The locking mechanism is brilliant and incredibly easy to use once you know how.

We offer the optional PVC disc attachments to provide extra support and comfort for heavier earrings. Like many flexible materials used regularly in our daily lives, these discs are to be replaced as needed for optimal performance.
The vast majority of our customers enjoy these discs without issue for a long time. Also, the disc is optional - Chrysmela works great with the same locking power without the disc, and many of our customers prefer to wear them that way.

I used these earring backs everyday. I can’t believe I lived so long without them.
I have owned a pair for quite a few years and lost one. Not because they came off but I dropped it and could not find it. I constantly pull sweatshirts, tee shirts and pull overs over my head and never lost the back. They have worked for me for a long time. In addition , they are comfortable and stabilize the earring nicely when you get the disk as well.

They create a beautiful new look with my diamonds.
If they weren’t so comfortable I wouldn’t buy them again. One back broke after less than a year. The plastic back broke in half.

Please know the disc is made of PVC, and may show normal wear-and-tear over time or may get damaged by repeated contact with hair spray, perfume, extreme temperature, and other elements. Replacement discs are available here https://chrysme.la/products/extra-disc.
The back doesn't come off unless you open the lock, however, they will continue to move closer to your ear. Which eventually becomes painful.

Please know Chrysmela’s secure design inherently makes it move slightly, depending on the material and size of your earring posts. More importantly, for your comfort. It is still secure. Earring posts sometimes vary in size, even on the same pair of earrings. To find the best position for your earring, please push Chrysmela closer toward your ear just a few millimeters, and then pull it back toward the end of the earring post. It will lock at that point. I really like the catch earring backs with the disc attached. They hold tight and stabilize the gold ball in front.
I’ve only been using them for a week or so, but they seem to work as advertised.

The earring backs are exactly what I ordered, however, the shipping was extremely, I mean, extremely slow. Not sure I would order from them again. No problem with the product.
